Abimol contains a substance called paracetamol and is used to relieve pain and reduce fever
Dosage and method of use:
- adult dose
- 2 tablets every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
- elderly dose
- Pain (acute) or fever: Oral Refer to adult doses.
- Persistent pain: Adults ≥ 75 years: Oral:
- Initial dose: 325 to 500 mg every 4 hours or 500 to 1000 mg every 6 hours
- Maximum: ≤4000 mg/day. In the elderly with hepatic impairment or a history of alcohol abuse being treated for persistent pain, not to exceed 2,000 to 3,000 mg/day maximum
- It is preferable that the dosage be determined by the competent physician or pharmacist
Indications:
- Abimol is used in the following cases:
- Fever (high temperature)
- Pain relief:
- management of mild to moderate pain in patients less than 2 years of age; Management of moderate to severe pain when combined with opioid analgesia in patients less than 2 years old.
- Joint pain, menstrual pain, back pain, aches and sore throat, earache, flu, toothache, fever, migraine, muscle pain, tension headache, neuralgia, cold, teething syndrome
