Dosage and method of use:
To treat gout:
- Moderate gout: 200-300 mg daily.
- Moderate to severe gout: 400-600 mg daily.
- Maximum dose: 800 mg daily in divided doses.
To treat high levels of uric acid in the blood due to cancer treatments:
- Adults and children: 600-800 mg daily for 2 or 3 days.
- Children under 10 years: 300 mg daily.
- Children under 5 years: 150 mg daily.
For the treatment of recurrent kidney stones:
- Adults: 200-300 mg per day, taken in single or divided doses.
Indications:
- This medicine is used to treat gout.
